The Plot
A young wife who has been missing and presumed murdered returns home – physically unharmed but obviously having suffered a traumatic experience – only to find that her husband’s feelings for her have completely changed. With the help of her mother-in-law, whom she had always taken to be her enemy, she eventually regains the love of her husband and the happiness and stability of her marriage is restored in a moving clilmax to a highly-charged emotional drama.

Ambitious – but successful
Wimborne Drama Club staged an ambitious performance of Elzabeth Addyman’s three-act play The Secret Tent at the County Modern School on Thursday and Friday. The company enacted well the events of four autumn days in the living room of an old Kent cottage.
Cast : Paddy Brooman, Hilary Boreham, Thelma Dryden, Mary Ryder, Brian Penton, Hrold Midmore and Daphne Young.
Producer was Douglas Treharne, stage manager Pat Mottram, lighting was Douglas Treharne, properties by Julie Best, general and business managers were Leslie and Daphne Young and the prompter was Beryl Verran.
