Russ first joined Wimborne Drama in 1962 when he appeared in the comedy Loves A Luxury. During the rest of this decade he appeared in several comedies and thrillers. After appearing in The Ghost Train in 1976 he moved to Jersey for 10 years and then to Abingdon where he taught business studies in the local Colleges.
Having always kept in touch with the club, several years as a Patron, he re-joined on returning to the area in 2000. Since then he has been given roles in several productions including An Inspector Calls, Rebecca, and again in the second production of “The Ghost Train” this time as the Station Master.
In 2008 he was made an honorary member and is still willing to play a role provided there are not too many lines or entrances and exits.
